EDF Energy Nuclear New Build Update

EDF Energy UK Suppliers Forum: Local Business Opportunities

For those local suppliers and companies that were unable to attend the previous EDF Energy Supplier Day event on 6 July, two additional regional sessions are to be held on Tuesday 28 September at the Canalside Conference Centre in Bridgwater.

Similar to the event in July; the aim of the sessions is to ensure that local suppliers and companies can learn about the opportunities that EDF Energy’s investment plans will create.

The two sessions will be led by key EDF Energy staff with presentations from engineering, quality and procurement divisions. These presentations will help local companies understand the requirements for working on the project and find out more about getting involved.

The two sessions have been designed to focus on different groups of suppliers. The morning session will be held from 9am to 12pm (registration will start at 8.15am) and is aimed at Somerset-based technical suppliers, including: manufacturing, supply chain, building and civil engineering contractors; electrical and instrument suppliers; construction companies and consultancies.

The afternoon session will take place between 2pm and 5pm and is focussed on local support services, including recruitment agencies, caterers, hoteliers and non-technical suppliers. Registration for this session will start at 1pm.

All of us depend on reliable, affordable and clean supplies of energy. Delivering long-term investment to achieve this is one of the biggest challenges facing the energy industry as a whole. Our aim is to play a leading role in UK nuclear new build, alongside our investment programmes in other forms of low carbon generation.

If you are interested in attending a session at the Canalside Conference Centre, BCC Huntworth, Marsh Lane, Bridgwater TA6 6LQ please register your interest by Monday 20 September at www.edfenergy.com/newnuclearopportunities

Places will be allocated after the close of registration and delegates will be notified on Wednesday 22nd September.
