“POSITIONING YOUR BUSINESS FOR NUCLEAR NEW BUILD (NNB)” COMES TO

The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) will be joining forces with the Anglesey Energy Island Programme (AEIP) and Welsh Government (WG) on Friday 23rd September to provide an informative and knowledge-sharing event focusing on “Positioning Your Business for Nuclear New Build (NNB)” for locally-based manufacturing SME’s.
This half day event, which is free to manufacturing SME’s, is being held at the Construction Skills Centre, Coleg Menai, Llangefni,
The aim of this event is to raise the awareness of the NNB programme to businesses within Anglesey and
The event will be a chance for Welsh businesses to understand what they need to do to win business from this exciting proposed development. Here is your chance to begin to plan your company’s opportunity to be part of this multi-billion investment in

“This event will be an ideal opportunity for local businesses to hear first hand from the sector experts what potential opportunities there maybe arising from new nuclear build at Wylfa. It is essential that local businesses prepare for this huge proposed investment and importantly benefit from it” Sasha Wynn Davies – Energy Island Programme Director.
It is anticipated that speakers, exhibitors and attendees will include representatives from DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change), Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), Horizon Nuclear Power (HNP), AREVA, Westinghouse, the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (NAMRC), National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN), Welsh Government (WG) and Engineering The Future.
With the standards required reflecting Operational Excellence, many SME’s may need to incorporate an action plan of improvements into their business strategy now, in order to be a contender in the future marketplace. Working in partnership with the NAMRC, MAS will outline the assistance available to manufacturers to implement their plans of improvement through funded MAS services and the “Fit for Nuclear” programme it will help to deliver.
